31 Days to Clean by Sarah Mae ~ Day 7

It's Monday. I could stop right there really, my get up and go, got up and went. But, this is going to be a big day. I've finished my run and I'm trying to warm up. It's 45° outside. It was a little chilly in the house so I've turned on the heat for the first time this fall. I'm sure I'll probably end up turning the air back on before the day is through though. Got to love Illinois!

I've fed the kids and I'm sitting here with my coffee getting organized for today. It is going to be a lot of hard work today as I wrote out my Six List last night. This is what I've got down:
  1. Laundry
  2. Clean microwave and oven
  3. Clean windows and curtains in the kitchen
  4. Organize kitchen cabinets
  5. Organize pantry
  6. Pick up the rest of the house
I'll be doing well if I can get these things accomplished.

Today's reading was regarding the "Curse" for man's original sin and how because of sin our domains would rebel against us and it would be more difficult to get and keep our work done. Sarah Mae was referencing that this is why we have dirty laundry and we have to keep cleaning house every day. I don't really see it that way. Unless I'm missing something here we have dirty laundry because we wear clothes and they get dirty and we can have messy surroundings because we need to discipline ourselves to pick up after ourselves.

I guess we wouldn't have laundry at all though if we'd never sinned we wouldn't "feel" naked without clothes. Oh well...as my grandma used to say, "You just have to keep on keepin' on." Best advice I think I've ever received.

It won't last forever though. We have a blessed hope for even the most mundane of tasks. Romans 8:20-21 in the TLB says "For on that day thorns and thistles, sin, death, and decay—the things that overcame the world against its will at God’s command—will all disappear, and the world around us will share in the glorious freedom from sin which God’s children enjoy." I can't wait!!

Today's cleaning assignment is to clean out and organize the pantry.

What do you think? Do you think we have/need to clean continuously because we are striving against the "Curse"?
